Savor Chat UpdatesMay 9, 2011 Savor Chat is down for maintenance for the next 24 hours. The Savor Chat service will be unavailable for the next 24 hours and will resume at the end of day, May 10, 2011. We are undergoing some major changes under the hood and need to take the application offline for a short amount of time in order to do make sure everything is done according to plan. November 10, 2010 Help keep Savor Chat a free service We are asking for donations so we can keep the Savor Chat service free for anyone to use without having to insert banner ads or even charge a fee to host a room. Hosting this service has become costly since we are now getting quite a bit of traction and users. We will be moving Savor Chat to a new dedicated server which will enable us to serve many more simultaneous users and improve stability. We hate it when the server goes down, and I bet you do too. Of course, this is not free. We are asking for donations so we can cover the cost of operations only (hosting and maintenance). You can use the PayPal button below and donate any amount you wish. August 18, 2009 Embeddable Chat Rooms! Steady... Ready... GO! You can now take your chat room anywhere you want. A special embed code is provided for each room. You can find the code in the room sidebar or under the "get embed code" tab in the edit room page. For now, all embedded rooms are free. We will be rolling out our premium rooms in about 1 month. A big release just went out including the following: - Twitter Direct Message notifications for room activity (opt-in of course!). The Direct Message notifications should help get people inside a room at the same time. Just find the the "set notifications" button right below the text box. You will need to follow us on Twitter in order for this to work, since the direct messages are coming straight from us! Enjoy, and again, happy chatting!

Now, Facebook users will not show up without an image or with a name of "Facebook User". There will be no more anonymous users. Savor Chat is at it's very early development stage and we will keep releasing new features on a weekly basis. We are planning to make this platform as open and seemless as possible between all existing major online social networks.
